This spearhead is constructed in the style of Carolingian spearheads (although is does miss the characteristic “wings”) imported by the Vikings in the 9-10th century. Despite the adulation and reverence given to the sword, the spear was generally the weapon of choice for Vikings. Used as throwing weapons and as pikes, spears were an indispensable part of their daily routine.
This Viking spearhead is hand-forged from high-carbon steel and has a conical socket.
The Viking spearhead has a hole at each side so that you can securely fasten it to the shaft of your choice (not included).
