In the Middle Ages, the nobility enjoyed hunting in their free time. It was good training for fighting on the battlefield, and a good excuse for a picnic as well.
That is why a set of knives for hunting was so practical – a set including a hunting knife and a matching table knife and fork. The hunting knife has a broad, single-edged blade with a fuller on each side. The groove of the fuller continues over the grip made of polished buffalo horn up to the riveted steel pommel. The rounded quillon is notched and narrows toward the cutting edge. After the kill had been gutted, cleaned and cooked, the small knife and fork came in handy at the table. The set comes with a leather scabbard that holds all three pieces.
