This shillelagh walking stick is very solid in construction and very strong. It cost me less than half the price of a real blackthorn shillelagh walking stick, but is much heavier and would need finishing wish a burnt style varnish to make it look authentic.

Although the product looks good, you can see the seams where it has been moulded and the polished knuckle isn't blended into the head of the stick.

As a walking stick with offensive qualities it is certainly good. I expected greater weighting on the top knob. I like it but it is quite plastic-y feeling. I'm surprised they didn't use a smooth finish on the mould tool to mimic polished wood better. Then it would be 5*. But I still like it and it will be my hiking stick from here on in.

I had recently needed to use a walking stick and was using a traditional wooden stick but this became splintered so was searching for something with the strength and durability and also easy to maintain and I found this it answers everything I needed I added a walking stick stopper to the end which now gives more grip I use it all the time and brilliant for wen I take my dogs out I can now walk further and with a lot more ease it is light but strong looking at more cold steel walking sticks as very happy with it from order time to delivery was very fast and I will definitely be using southern swords again top marks on service and delivery and a brilliant stick for those interested I would highly recommend

I have had this a few days now and initially thought the top was rather large for my handhold, but now it just seems to fall to hand no problem at all although I found it a little too long I have taken probably just over an inch off the bottom ( the rubber foot I got for the stick just touches the first what looks like where a shoot of branch would come out of the stick ) and that has for me totally transformed the ease of use with it.
I have the walkabout walking stick and loved that but this for me is now my number one to go to every time.
If I had anything at all that I wasn't sure about it would only be the simulation wood on the handle which looks like it is not part of the stick itself but that is only a minor point for me and I just love the thing.
