Trench Warfare Knife

Brand: Windlass Steelcrafts
During World War I, soldiers were issued knives in addition to their guns. They used them to defend themselves when the enemy army stormed the trenches and the hand-to-hand melee began. A knife like our compact trench warfare knife would have come in handy in this case.

An unknown soldier converted the original model for our replica from a GEW 98 Mauser bayonet by hand. You can see a picture of it in the book "Fighting Knives" written by British author Frederick John Stephens in 1980. The top feature of this trench warfare fighting knife is its robustness. The tang of the blade serves as the base for the handle: the striated handle plates are made of hardwood and bolted to the tang. Our trench warfare fighting knife comes with a sheath made of genuine leather with a leather loop used to attach it to a belt.
