Scale armour is an early form of armour sometimes erroneously called scale mail consisting of many individual small armour scales (plates) attached to each other in overlapping rows. Scale armour was worn by warriors of many different cultures as well as their horses.
This cuirass is made of genuine cowhide, 3.5 - 4.0mm thick.
The scales are interlaced with leather cords and the sides can be fastened with belts and buckles.
