I had no idea what a Quama knife was but I did know I wanted a full size, "straight" Kindjal Dagger. This weapon far surpassed my expectations in function, value and quality and its straight blade is more in keeping with the Indian, Afghan, and Circassian styles of swordsmanship that I am studying. I am sure the curved Kindjal (also by Windlass) is just as good and I will be purchasing one in the near future through Southern Swords, but this straight one was just what I wanted. Unadorned, strong, and functional as a good native Kindjal should be, this weapon will serve me well for many years in practice and in study. Thanks guys!

A rather simple design but well-made and perfectly functional. The only issue I have with it are the two decorative studs on one side of the grip (not shown in the images above) that can make for a somewhat uncomfortable grip for my reasonably large hands but otherwise I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

This sword is amazing for the price. the sharpening service southern swords offers is not the best and and i'd recommend buying a few high quality sharpening stones, at least a 1000 grit stone to get some edge back after test cutting; I love it! it's sharp, controllable and feels amazing to swing. the blade edges are acute with a great cutting profile. This sword competes with swords 2-3 times it's price but don't celebrate too soon because £120-£150 is still a very cheap sword. I think the reason this sword is so cheap is because it doesn't set out to imitate more complex and difficult designs like oakshotte long swords or renaissance era side swords but rather a simplified version of a gladius. the qama is a full tang blade with hard polymer scales pinned in place similar to a lot of modern full tang knives. My recommendation is to buy this amazing value for money sword, some oil for the blade, a decent £30 sharpening stone (not the lansky puck they offer) and just have fun smacking things with your new pointy chav poker! Also youtube has video of a chubby man who made a spear out of this sword which actually demonstrates how well this £40 sword will cut!
