Representing one of the high points of bascinet development before the advent of the plate neck defence, this French design is an example of the more robust bascinets used in the late 14th century. It features a moveable visor that can be opened both upward and also towards each side thanks to the removable pins in the hinges. Brass vervelles attached to the rim serve as attachment points for an aventail. Made from 2mm (14 gauge) steel. Padded lining covered with cotton (100%) and a leather chin strap.
Crafted in 14 ga. steel, this helmet offers full head protection and is lined and ready for use.
