Originally used in ancient Thrace, Dacia, and Illyria, the sica curved dagger or short sword eventually found its way into the Roman empire. Once in Rome, the sica quickly became associated with assassins like the Sicarii and was considered a dishonorable weapon used by criminals. In the arenas of the empire, the sica was the weapon of choice and distinctive mark of the Thraex gladiators.
Our curved Spartacus Sica Sword is double-edged like its prototype from the TV series. Riveted to the full tang, the attractive hardwood grip reliably keeps your hand from slipping. The Spartacus Sica Sword features a ribbed hand guard made of brass with an oval cross section. At almost 12 cm, this sword's point of balance is close to the point – you will be able to wield it with power.
